After earning his PhD, he began a 21-year career with Merrill Lynch, where he authored or co-authored several published technical articles in trade journals. Bruce retired from the brokerage firm and moved back to Alabama where he has settled in the Mays Bend community on Logan Martin Lake with his wife, Jan.
