Author Biography
Samantha Shu has been in love with the written word long before time had any real meaning to her young mind. Reading and writing were her joys and as she grew her love of writing grew with her. At age twelve Samantha began writing her first novel. It was a fantasy fiction based on stories that her and her siblings made up to carry them away to another place and time. As Samantha grew older her palate changed and she began reading more mystery and romance. Soon after she discovered the blended, mystery, romance, adventure novels and she felt she had finally discovered a genre perfect for her own writing style. Samantha's first mystery was published in 2002 " Mistaken Identity" she has tirelessly worked on a prequel to that work, along with a sequel. Currently she is celebrating the pending release of "Whispered Dreams" a suspense thriller that will titillate the senses and keep the reader guessing. During the early periods of Samantha's journey into the world of creation, she also enjoyed the sweeter simplicity of writing children's stories. In 1992 she finished her first children's book and quickly discovered a talent and love for the genre. Samantha writes her children Stories under the name "Sammy Shu". Her stories are simple and reminiscent of a time long past, when it was common to believe and to wish for the unexplained and fantastic. Topics including, fairies, dragons, mermaids, centaurs and creatures yet to be discovered, are but a few of the fabulous stories woven into her wonderful children's books. Her appreciation for the fantastic is evident within her stories. They are beautifully woven with realistic situations while remaining true to her childlike imagination. She enjoys the dichotomy of the genres that inhabit her imagination. She also feels very lucky to be able to share both loves with a varied and amazing audience of adults and children alike. Samantha was raised on the sunny shores of south Florida. The desire for a more lush landscape brought her to Denver, Colorado, where she now resides with her family. Samantha is a full time college student. Her field of study is Criminal Justice. Samantha uses her research into the field, developing her characters and adding a realism that jumps from the pages of her books.
