by Beth Porter (Author)

From the moment of their birth The Twins were ravenous, demanding to be fed. Born of a single seed no bigger than the freckle on your chin, they grew to claim their legacy, their power. This tale strips away the niceties in Myth and Meme, Culture and Consequence, down to the common horror we must learn to love. Feed them!

Once upon a time I spent 6-months in a cage with two baby orangutans at the LA Zoo. This is true, but has nothing to do with my professional career. Read on! Before graduating from university, New Yorker Beth began acting professionally at age 12, coming to prominence as part of the award-winning LaMaMa Troupe, led by Tom'Horgan and Ellen Stewart. Her successful solo career in films & television includes featured roles in Woody Allen's Love & Death; Tales of the Unexpected; Hitch-hiker's Guide To The Galaxy; and hit series Rock Follies. Acting segued into media journalism as London Editor of Film Journal International; writing fiction & plays; being appointed BBC-TV development executive; & working as exec producer of corporate websites for an international webhouse. In 2002 Intellect Publishing brought out her book The Net Effect, a socio-cultural account of the internet, with a foreword by David Lord Puttnam. Resident Aliens: stories of NYC in the 1960s was her first solo collection of short fiction, published in 2013, followed the next year by Drama Queen, a collection of original scripts and screenplays. In April 2016 Beth published her autobiography Walking On My Hands: how I learned to take responsibility for my life with the help of Woody Allen, Barbra Streisand, Greta Garbo, Harvey Milk, Idi Amin, Guy the Gorilla, & Frank Sinatra among others. Its foreword is by Shane Connaughton, award-winning novelist and screenwriter of My Left Foot. Later that year she published Settling Beyond The Pale, her 2nd collection of short fiction.
