When a scarred and grizzled knight, Hakayatas, saves her from a zombie attack, Annie has no choice but to team up with him to discover her destiny. She learns that this new world is plagued by a darkness of its own. A sinister force is stealing magic and killing those who use it. Can tough-talking and hard-living Annie accept her fate and embark on a mission to fight the evil? Or will she succumb under the weight of her fears? Can she adapt to a world of knights and elves - a world without whiskey? Chased by charming but deadly assassins and murderous demons, Annie must decide if she has what it takes to go on a quest to restore part of the magic Tahldia has lost.

Author Biography

Born and raised in Texas, Crispin Young grew up on a steady diet of video games, comic books, cartoons, and watching Star Trek with her dad. In 2001, she wandered off to the northwest in search of adventure, and received her degrees in Journalism and Environmental Studies from the University of Oregon. One night when she was a college freshman, she looked up at the thick blanket of stars above her campfire and saw the characters of Tahldia clearly in her mind. The memories and creative inspiration of that evening followed her like a shadow through the next eight years, evolving and growing into an enormous, bittersweet trilogy. Her first book, "Heart of the Current," is now available on Amazon. Crispin currently resides in the Pacific Northwest and works as a hardware technician, graphic designer, photographer, word wrestler and cat herder. She dreams of being a full-time writer.
