by Bob Erlich (Author)

A simple missing person's case. That's what Eli Rose and his partner, Vicente Amarón thought it would be when she walked into their office. Beautiful Miami heiress Jo McHenry needed someone to find her missing parents, and no cost was too great. Plus, she made it all sound so simple. Unfortunately for Eli, nothing is ever simple, and hidden behind her model's good looks was an intricate tangle involving cocaine smuggling, the Colombian and Mexican drug cartels, and corruption inside the FBI. By the time it all becomes clear, Eli and Vicente are embroiled in a delicate balancing act with the cartels and the Fed's, and caught in the middle of a violent and bloody drug war with tragic consequences.

Author Biography

Born and raised in Miami Beach, Bob Erlich spent his summers in the 1960's and early 1970's roaming the luxury hotels, sandy beaches, and clear waters of South Florida and the Bahamas. He spent the latter years of the Vietnam War as a student at the University of Miami and paid his way through school by serving aboard NOAA ships and working on data used in anti-submarine warfare. Following graduate school, Bob entered the oil industry and moved to Houston, Texas. He has made a career walking the jungles and mountains of Latin America, the Caribbean, and Southeast Asia mapping geology and looking for oil, and in the process learned much about the peoples and cultures of these diverse regions. His thirty five years of work and travels are the inspiration for the Eli Rose novels No Vacancy, The Next Best Man, and his newest in the series, Morgan 41. Bob still resides outside Houston, Texas.
